Greenway Strings is Recruiting

Greenway Strings was formed in 2008 with a view to playing mostly baroque and classical chamber music, with an emphasis on stylistic preparation. From September 2012 we will be meeting on the 2nd Sunday of every month at Greenway Studios, 98a Crewe Road, Alsager.

Our next concert is A Celebration of Corelli on Saturday 2nd February 2013, at 7:30pm at St Mary's Church, Alsager, in which we present a programme marking the 300th anniversary of the death of Arcangelo Corelli, whose seminal works for strings set a benchmark for composers all over Europe for many years. Tickets are £6 or £3 for under 14s, or you can pay on the door.

Our current repertoire includes:

Palladio (Karl Jenkins)
Canon in D (Pachelbel)
Concerto for Two Violins in A (Vivaldi)
Violin Concerto Op.3 No.6 in A Minor (Vivaldi)
Violin Concerto Op.3 No.8 in A Minor (Vivaldi)

We currently have about 15 members but are always looking for players of approximately Grade 6 level and above, although having grades is not at all necessary!
