Greenway Strings was formed in 2008 with a view to playing mostly baroque and classical chamber music with an emphasis on stylistic preparation. We currently meet on the first Sunday of every month at The Lodge Inn, Alsager, where there is ample space and a great acoustic in the upstairs function room.
Our current repertoire includes:
Palladio (Karl Jenkins) Canon in D (Pachelbel) Concerto for Two Violins in A (Vivaldi) Violin Concerto Op.3 No.6 in A Minor (Vivaldi) Violin Concerto Op.3 No.8 in A Minor (Vivaldi) Violin Concerto Op.8 No.8 in G Minor (Vivaldi) Double Violin Concerto in D Minor (Bach) Spring (Vivaldi) Concerto Grosso No.12 in B Minor (Handel) 'Christmas' Concerto (Corelli)
We have also recently featured at the Greenway Music Annual Concert, performing a range of contemporary music alongside students and bands, and perform at Lawton Manor every Christmas.
We are looking for players of approximately Grade 6 level and above, although having grades is not necessary.
